Apples, pears, melons, cherries and more by Dulce Beatriz!

I am pleased to report the addition, to my virtual gallery, of three wonderful works by our featured impressionist master of the Spanish School: Dulce Beatriz! These three paintings ‘ABUNDANCIA” [ABUNDANCE], “ALCACHOFA Y MANZANAS” [ARTICHOKE AND APPLES], and “MELON Y CEREZAS” [MELON AND CHERRIES] will be offered at auction through ARTPRICE , France from July 1 through July 13, 2013. Gallery 9 is now open: Maritime works by Dulce Beatriz

I have exciting news! We have added to our collection of works by featured artist Dulce Beatriz and are inaugurating a brand new exhibition of sixteen maritime-themed works by the artist.

This new additions to the collection can now be seen and admired in Gallery 9: MARITIME, a newly opened exhibition space in our virtual gallery. It gives me great pleasure to invite you, and all our visitors, to take some time now and visit Gallery 9 and to visit often so that you can admire these wonderful works by Dulce Beatriz.

All of these works were done in-situ in Fort Myers, on the Gulf coast of Florida, and in the Miami River mainly in the 1960s, which gives them a unique historical character given the fact that some of the depicted sites have been radically  changed, or altered, over the years.

Those of you who are familiar with this area in the south-central west coast of Florida, around Fort Myers, Fort Myers Beach, Estero, Sanibel and Captiva islands, you will recognize the luminous sunlight, and the wonderful interplay of light and shadow that invigorates this region while admiring these works by Dulce Beatriz done in a variety of media.

Welcoming three new paintings to the Gallery!

Continuing toward our goal of enriching your viewing experience during visits to the Gallery we have added three paintings from our featured artists, post-impressionist master of the Spanish School XX, Dulce Beatriz. First we have a still life, JARRA DE LECHE(The Milk Jug) where the artist’s mastery of detail, the use of light and palette to create a wonderful visually appealing composition. Worthy of notice in this painting is the depiction of the milk jug itself, an extremely well executed example of the famed double-fired glazed earthenware developed in the island of Majorca under the Moorish reign in the late 14th century, which eventually expanded to Spain and Italy, culminating if the wonderful works created in Urbino and Venice, known as Majolica. If you look closely you can actually see not only the traditional blue outlines that characterize these pieces, but the glazing itself.

This work of art, shown below with some details, is now on display in our Gallery 3: Still Life where you can view it in all its details. Keep in mind that by double-clicking on the image you can actually zoom in to examine every detail of this painting.

The second addition we are now welcoming to our gallery is a typical woman, painted from a live model as is usual in the work of Dulce Beatriz, titled REGRESANDO DEL JARDIN (Back from the Garden), in which you see a young woman still flush from having been out in the sun with windswept hair holding a colorful array of flowers and a long-stemmed single wheat ear, upon which she gazes as if imagining the wonderful arrangement she will display on her table by the window. Beyond the elongated lines that reveal the influence of Spanish masters, such as Velazquez, the treatment of the eyes of this young woman constitute one of the trademarks of Dulce Beatrizinfusing her subject with true windows of the soul in the tradition of the Flemish masters, such as VanDyck.

Rounding up these additions to our collection we have an excellent landscape, PAISAJE DE UN BOSQUE  (Forest Landscape) full of the rich brown hues, reddish earths, and the play of light and shadow that bring the viewer into the forest under the canopy, with tremendous force. Dulce Beatrizmasterful treatment of this work is evident in the details of splashes of reflected light on the trunks and branches of the trees, which clearly signal the approaching dusk as the Sun, unseen in the painting, is setting in the distant horizon to the left of the scene, while the water of the pond surrounded by the forest as it is only reflects the pale light of a hazy sky.

PAISAJE DE UN BOSQUE is now on permanent display in our collection in Gallery 4: Landscapes and Cityscapes where you can admire it at any time. Below is an image of the painting as well as details of the same:

Additions to our Gallery: Two Paintings by Dulce Beatriz

In pursuit of our main objective of offering you as representative a sample as possible of the work of our featured artist, master painter Dulce Beatriz , we have recently added two paintings to the collection, which are now on exhibit in the Gallery for your enjoyment.

These new additions to our exhibits are titled MUJER DE PERFIL (Woman in Profile), which may be viewed in GALLERY 2: Women and Children, and PAÑO ROJO (Red Cloth), now on exhibit in GALLERY 3: Still Life.

You can preview these works of fine art in the images that follow, but please keep in mind that by visiting the specific galleries where these painting are  now exhibited you will be able to view them in much more detail as you click on each image to zoom in.

MUJER DE PERFIL (Woman in Profile) by Dulce Beatriz – Oil on canvas 26″ x 36″ (66.04 cm x 91.44 cm)

MUJER DE PERFIL is a medium-sized 26″x36″ (66.04 cm  x 91.44 cm) painting embodying several of the strong elements that characterize the Spanish School, such as a bright and bold palette, the use of light and contrast between light and dark to highlight specific features in the painting such as the face of a subject or the folds of vestments, and in this specific case also the elongated, elegant flowing forms of the subject, painted from a live model, that are typical of the masterful brush of the artist Dulce Beatriz and reminiscent of the works by a master of the Spanish renaissance, El Greco (1541-1614). PAÑO ROJO is a large format 40″ x 50″ (101.60 cm  x 127.00 cm) oil on canvas still life where the artist Dulce Beatriz exhibits her excellent technique in a compositions that takes us beyond the surface where the various components are displayed, to the back wall and beyond to the trees and distant landscape visible through the open window, as well as in the depiction of the fruits and flowers and other components of the display. In fact this painting is so full of bright colors and contrasts, and possesses so much energy that it takes the still life genre to a totally new level.
