“MUJER CON VELO” (Veiled Woman) by Dulce Beatriz Oil on Canvas 26″ x 36″ (66 cm x 91,4 cm)
In this painting of a young woman, an expectant mother, created from a live model the artist Dulce Beatriz exhibits her strong foundation rooted in the Spanish School. This is clear in the elongated shape of the figure, showing traces of Diego Velazquez (1599-1660) and El Greco (1541 – 1614) as well as in the somber palette of the clothing and background. The excellent play of light and shadow with which the artists highlights the face of this young woman, and the masterful treatment of the eyes, make this an outstanding example of the work of Dulce Beatriz.
