You will see truly impressive level of detail, from the moist cornea and translucent iris, to the pupil behind it, as well as the reflection of light as the young woman gazes ahead. Such astounding quality in the depiction of eyes, which is so rarely mastered, has seldom been seen since the peak of the Flemish Baroque in works by Anthony Van Dyck (1599 -1641) Now the artist Dulce Beatriz goes beyond the technical mastery of painting lifelike eyes, by giving us glimpses into the very soul of the model right through the eyes. Another aspect of this particular work of art, which is an example of the mastery of Dulce Beatriz with the brush, is the manner in which she has captured the true color of gold and the reflection of light captured by the earrings.
